Raised by her hardworking mother, Joy grew up with an absent father who visited only occasionally and offered limited financial support from Canada. Witnessing her mother’s pain and the judgment of their community fueled her determination to succeed, leading her to become a doctor. She clung to the belief that her father hadn’t abandoned them willingly. At her core, Joy longs for genuine family connection and to be truly understood.
